Our neighbourhood now has blanket 2.4 and 5GHz coverage, with shared routers, so everyone gets great wi-fi wherever they are! And does the answer to this question depend on the company that made the adaptors? You have to disconnect and re-connect when you are closer to the extender so it's a bit of a pain, it doesn't just hook up itself.
